E-module for public health care in Herzegovina-Neretva County by the end of the year
The management of the Health Insurance Fund of the Herzegovina-Neretva County (ZZO) has held a meeting with the representatives of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Institute of Public Health and the medical centers Mostar, Konjic, and Mostar Stari Grad.
On Friday, ZZO reported that Rade Bosnjak, the principal of the Fund, stated that the organization was proud of all conducted activities related to the development of the public health e-module, which would be used by the Fund and all medical centers in the county.
““This is one of the functions of the Integrated Health Information System (IZIS) that will be of use for medical centers, as well as for the Institute of Public Health, the Ministry of Health and the government of the Herzegovina-Neretva County.”
He also stated that it is necessary to define all the activities to implement the e-module for public health in effect by the end of the year.
The importance of the development of the e-module for public health is reflected in the current situation, in which medical centers have to keep written files on prevalence of infectious diseases and regularly send them to the Herzegovina-Neretva Institute of Public Health and the whole procedure made the process of following the situation on the field slower and more difficult.
The process of prevalence and expansion of infectious diseases and possible epidemics will become easier with the development of the e-module, since it will enable medical centers and the Institute of Public Health to keep track of the prevalence of infectious diseases and possible epidemics on a daily basis, while medical centers will no longer have to fill in written forms, and will use electronic templates instead.
In addition, based on the electronic reports of the e-module for public health, the Institute of Public Health will be able to continuously follow the prevalence of infectious diseases and possible epidemics and will be able to tackle the issue beforehand, states ZZO of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
